Local 1368 Elections

Dear Brothers  & Sisters,

To ensure that our members get an opportunity to vote, we are holding the elections of officers
this year via mail-in ballots.  Along with this type of voting method, we have to make every attempt to ensure the confidentiality of how our members vote.
Our elections will be overseen by the Local 1368 Election Committee and a member of AFSCME Council 93 staff as well.

Mail ballots are being mailed out this week 10/19/2014.

In Solidarity,

AFSCME Local 1368 Elections Committee

Upgrades

As many of you know we have been involved in a dispute with the commonwealth around a contract which involved .25% of the total contract value and how to use it. The committee which was formed @ 4 years ago has finally completely resolved this issue. The first portion of that money was distributed as a one time payout any member who was working when the contract commenced and was still working when it was paid. You saw this I believe a month ago in your paychecks. This money was originally intended as upgrades for various DMH, DPH, DDS, and ISO positions in DYS.

Contract Negotiations

The State is crying poor in contract negotiations. They claim low tax revenues and there is little money for raises. The current offer from the State is 1%, 2%, and 2% over 3 years. This is far too low to be acceptable. Furthermore they have told us any monetary items we wish to include need to be taken from this money I.E. hazardous pay for weather emergencies and higher shift differentials. Here is an article from the 10/18/2017 State House News from the Unions in Massachusetts to Governor Baker.

VOTE!

Vote!!! Make sure you get out and elect the individuals who will lead this country and your state for the years to come. Nothing is more important than choosing the people who will make the laws and decisions that effect you financially. Make sure your family and friends get out and vote. Give them a ride if they need it, but make sure you and anyone else you know is not silenced due to lack of getting to the poles!

ELECTIONS

***ELECTIONS***

You will all be receiving a ballot(s) in the mail some time in the next day or two. You will notice there is only one or two ballots to vote for, depending on where you work, this is because the following officers were nominated and unopposed. Therefore the follow positions were elected through acclamation and will serve a 2 year term:

President: Dan Morse

Vice-President: Grace Velasquez

Secretary-Treasurer: Daniele Rose

Sargent-at-Arms: Chris Duquette

Western Region Executive Board: Richard Harrigan

PEOPLE Jackets

Dear Council 93 staff,

It has become apparent that many of the members who have signed up as PEOPLE MVPs, (contributing at least $100/year), have not received their PEOPLE jackets. In an effort to streamline the process of sending them their jackets, we have created a Google form so that I may track who I have shipped jackets to. Please direct your members to:
