We are facing a serious threat to badly needed federal
aid to our states that will help prevent even further cuts to the essential
services provided by AFSCME members.
Specifically, we are in danger of losing billions in
Federal Medicaid Assistance Percentage (FMAP) funding. Last week, the House of Representatives stripped the FMAP
funding from the jobs bill. Our best shot now is to get FMAP funding included
